Wanneer u aankomt wordt u ontvangen door de eigenaar of beheerder en vindt u een mooie, schone en goed onderhouden woning met uitzicht over de heuvels perfect voor een geweldige vakantie in Toscane. Voor uw vermaak vindt u een privé zwembad waar u kunt uitrusten terwijl u geniet van een heerlijk koel drankje na een hectische dag toeren. Als u van koken houdt is er een goed uitgeruste keuken met o.a. koffiezetapparaat, magnetron oven, broodrooster, fornuis en ijskast en natuurlijk voldoende servies en bestek voor tot vier personen. Het huis ligt op een rustige en zonnige plek in het open platteland, op de karakteristieke heuvels van Umbrië. Casetta i Ciliegi can be reached via a scenic mountain road that is partly unpaved (about 4 km), not recommended for sports cars. Especially the first time it may be a little difficult, but once you get there you will understand that it is worth making a little effort to admire such a beautiful view. You will leave your heart in Cortona, in its paved alleys that climb up the hill, you will immerse yourself in an almost magical atmosphere, as if suspended in time.
Don't forget to dine in one of the countless restaurants and trattorias in the historic centre; our advice is definitely local red wine and a nice Tagliata of Chianina beef!
Until a few years ago the house was the heart of a large farm, then a recent and careful renovation, which the owners carried out with love and care to keep the old features of the villa unaltered, transformed it into a cosy holiday home.
Still next to the house you will find the wine cellar where the owner produces excellent wine (Vino DOC Cortona), which you can taste for free during your holiday.

We recommend a day trip to the characteristic Cortona, which can be reached in about 20 minutes by car.
In the gazebo in the garden you can dine in front of the sunset; for your barbecues or pizzas in company there are also a barbecue and a wood-burning oven. The fence makes the house ideal for a holiday with your four-legged friends (extra charge could be required). For both of you there is plenty of space in the green and the possibility, for those who love trekking, of long walks along the numerous paths in the woods. The farmhouse is located about 25 km from the beautiful Cortona, in Tuscany and about 15 km from the village of Trestina, in Umbria. You can do your shopping in either Cortona or Trestina, both of which have shops, supermarkets and services.
From here you have easy access to green Umbria, with its small villages nestled in the lush hills and bucolic landscapes of Lake Trasimeno, Perugia is only 60 km away.
Similarly, once you have reached Cortona, the splendid towns and cities of southern Tuscany will open up for you to discover. From Cortona to the farmhouse the road is perhaps a little long, even though it is all paved. But once you are there you will be rewarded with the absolute tranquillity of the place.
In our opinion Casale Aiola is definitely suitable for groups of families with children. The large green space around the house is perfect for the little ones to run and play in the middle of nature. Podere Marcigliano consists of 2 newly built villas, which nevertheless reflect the architectural characteristics of the farmhouses of the past. In the first building there are 3 apartments (Torreone, Tufa and the first floor owner’s apartment), in the second there are 2 units (Corito and Rugapiana).
Each apartment has a large green area, a beautiful swimming pool (size 7x14 m, depth 1.50 m - open from 15 May to 30 September and fully fenced), a barbecue, a laundry room in common use and children's games, and its own private area equipped with a furnished gazebo for your meals in the open air.

In this picturesque setting, just a short walk from Bucine the most important town of the valley, we find Casale la Splendida, an old rural house which is the ideal place for those wanting to explore the most authentic Tuscan-ness that these charming places express and retain. The interior of the house, brought to new life by renovation in full respect of the original plan, is particularly well-finished and elegant, with exquisite fireplaces in the living areas and refined pieces of furniture that create a warm and cosy atmosphere, full of comfort and functionality. The wide green outdoor areas, the portico with lounge area, the veranda with wood stove and dining area and the large pool all combine to make it a great destination for groups of friends and families with children who love nature and the relaxed atmosphere offered by the countryside. This destination will be ideal for exploring the beautiful area around Bucine, rich in vineyards, olive groves and woods, along which meander numerous CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) hiking or mountain biking routes. The owners live discreetly in an annex about 50 m from the house and can be a useful reference point for guests to whom, however, full privacy is guaranteed.
Interior:
The house has two floors. The main entrance on the ground floor opens through a French window from the portico into a small hallway communicating with a large welcoming living room on the left, with the study/reading room and with the dining room which is, in turn, connected to the kitchen and to a short corridor (with laundry and bathroom with hydro-massage shower) which ends at the veranda with table and chairs, stone sink, oven and hob. The French window of the veranda (with mosquito netting) opens out to the external dining area, located on the side of the pool. All the ground floor rooms have French windows connecting the interior with the outdoor areas, in particular from the living room leading directly out to the portico and the external dining area. On the first floor is the sleeping area, consisting of three double bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms (one with hydromassage shower and tub and the other with hydromassage shower), two twin bedrooms (one with joinable beds) and, finally, a bathroom with hydromassage shower. Park:
Casale La Splendida is set in an estate of about 3 hectares with wooded areas and areas cultivated with olive trees that produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil. From the entrance gate a short driveway lined with cypress trees takes guests to a large parking area and, from here, a short walk along stone paving leads to the main entrance and the surrounding areas. The garden around the house, with typical shrubs, borders of herbs and various colourful flowers (geraniums, roses, lavender bushes, aloes and succulents), is a peaceful green oasis in which to better appreciate the calm atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside. In front of the house are extensive olive groves where you can stroll around while at the back are the outdoor living areas: a large stone-paved area with gazebo and set up for outdoor dining which forms a single open environment with the veranda and pool, plus a large well-kept lawn bordered by low hedges. In a brick structure next to the dining area is the barbecue while the wood stove is to be found on the veranda. Swimming Pool:
The pool, easily accessible from the portico and from the veranda, stands in the beautiful garden surrounded by a large area of lawn and bordered by lavender bushes and roses that separate it from the wooded area. About 10 m from the house, access to the rectangular pool is via Roman steps. It measures 14 x 7 m with the depth at the edge 1.40 m and increasing to 2.80 m in the centre. It is lined in PVC, with whirlpool jets on one side, spotlights for night lighting, chlorine purification and hot and cold-water shower. Down a few steps is a changing room, a bathroom and two showers. Around the pool is a pleasant sunbathing area paved in stone and surrounded by lawn areas, provided with elegant sunbeds, deckchairs and a wooden gazebo. The swimming pool is available to guests from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

The residence, La Colonica, is a magnificent property overlooking the green valleys of Umbria, oon the border between Tuscany and Umbria. The house has a double entrance on the ground floor allowing, on the right, access to a double bedroom communicating with a further double bedrooms (both with ensuite bathroom with shower and both direct access to outside) and, on the left, access to an open - plan area with kitchen, living room, dining room and toilet. Next to these two entrances is the laundry area. The first floor is reached from the outside via a stone staircase leading to the entrance. In the shallow part of the pool it is possible to create a children’s area by closing off this area with a net. There are whirlpool vents, external and internal lighting and chlorine purification plant. The solarium area is covered by travertine and lawn and is provided with gazebo with sofa, sunbeds, small tables, umbrellas, chairs, armchairs and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Nonno Fernando is a farm built entirely of stone whose origins date back approximately to the early 19th century. In the recent renovation of the farm, the current owners have preserved the original design of the distribution of the various rooms. For the renovation of the farm, recycled materials were used both for the roofs and for the floors, covered in Tuscan terracotta. In addition, the exposed chestnut wood beams have been preserved. The farm is located in the lush Tuscan countryside, a few minutes from the seductive medieval town of Cortona, perched on a steep hill overlooking the Val di Chiana and Lake Trasimeno. The convenience of its location, well connected to the main road junctions and well served by the national railway network, represents a significant advantage for organizing excursions to the many surrounding villages and for visiting the main cities of Umbria and Tuscany. The central structure accessed from the main entrance houses a large living room, the dining room with fireplace and the equipped kitchen, connected to each other by vaults. A service bathroom completes the environment. Outside the ground floor, there are two flights of stairs located, respectively, to the left and to the right of the main entrance that lead to the first two annexes on the first floor. ANNEX 1. Park:
The park surrounding the house covers a total of 18 hectares. Flowerbeds with colorful flowers and lavender plants adorn the garden everywhere with the well-kept lawn of about 2500 square meters. Next to the pool, a rose garden of yellow roses frames the solarium area. The estate is adorned with typical Tuscan vegetation trees such as olive and elm trees, as well as a vast orchard available to guests, consisting of nuts, figs and pomegranates. The large and well-kept spaces all around invite guests to spend their days outdoors, having their lunches and dinners together under the large gazebo outside the kitchen, where a stone barbecue is located a few steps away, or playing table tennis under the shade of a gazebo or kicking the ball a few steps away. Alternatively, you can decide to relax under one of the gazebos located in various parts of the garden, simply admiring the wonderful view of the hill of Cortona that is offered from there.
N.B.: Please note that the photo shoots are usually carried out in spring, so the colors and blooms of the gardens, lawns and parks may be different when you enter the villa.
Pool:
The pool area is fenced with mesh and is located on the same level as the villa, which is about 70 m away. The rectangular tub measures 12 x 6 m. It has a depth that varies from a minimum of 1.20 m to a maximum of 1.50 and is equipped with a cold outdoor shower. A comfortable Roman staircase on one side of the pool with 4 large steps allows easy entry into the water. The tub is covered in PVC with a chlorine purification system and is equipped with internal lighting. The edge and the area around the pool are paved with 1.5 m of Tuscan terracotta, while the solarium area, equipped with sun loungers, chairs and armchairs, occupies the surrounding well-kept lawn. Also in the pool area there are two gazebos, a short distance from each other, furnished with armchairs and smoking tables, ideal for spending, alone or in company, authentic moments of relaxation, perhaps enjoying a good glass of wine. The exterior of the villa is well-kept and enjoyable, the pool is set in the middle of a park-garden characterized by the lake climate, always mild and ventilated, and by plants of rare beauty. The pair of “sophore japaniche giant pendulums”, hence the name of the villa, represents the highest the territory and vegetation can offer. All around are oak forests, local flora and fauna of all kinds, in respect of the nineteenth-century tradition that preferred the mixture of English and Italian styles. The park is completed by a beautiful period lemon house (with laundry inside), a solarium, an ancient gazebo and the wonderful contemporary fountain. Near the pool there is also a large open veranda that houses a fully equipped kitchen and a large table with chairs, a barbecue, ideal for pleasant outdoor dining. Pool:
The pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October, it is only a few meters from the house, in a slightly lower position and can be easily reached from the garden along a slight slope. Privacy is guaranteed by a laurel hedge that separates the solarium area from the rest of the park. The rectangular pool has a Roman staircase for access to the water and a cold shower. It measures 11 m x 7 m with a constant depth of 1.25 m. The tub is internally covered in PVC, the outer edge and the solarium area are in terracotta. It is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and surrounded by centuries-old plants that naturally provide some areas of shade. Near the pool there is a large open veranda that houses a fully equipped kitchen and a large table with chairs, ideal for pleasant outdoor dining.

Interior:
Il Fitto consists of the main house and an annex about 15 m away. MAIN HOUSE. On the ground floor, just past the entrance door, is a large living room consisting of a study corner, lounge and dining area, connected to both the kitchen and the outdoor living area. The floor is completed by a guest bathroom. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor (also accessible by an external staircase), consisting of a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with hydromassage tub, a double bedroom served by a bathroom with shower, two double bedrooms which share a bathroom with shower. ANNEX. Accessed via a flight of six steps, it consists of a living room with kitchenette (not equipped), a double bedroom and a bathroom with hydromassage shower. Park:
Il Fitto is part of a winery that extends for about 30 hectares. The park of the property, which spreads around the house and is for the complete and exclusive use of the guests, measures approximately 3000 sq m and is bordered for the most part by the vineyard. It is mainly flat, with lawn areas, enlivened by roses, olive trees, bushes of herbs and fruit trees, and a large loggia that extends out from the French window of the living room. The loggia contains a seating area and dining table covered by large umbrellas, with a stone barbecue. The parking area is located just after the entrance gate of the property, a few steps from the house and annex.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool, open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October, is located on one side of the house, in a slightly higher position and is reached via a short ramp or a walkway, just 15 m away. It measures 7 x 12 m with a constant depth of 1,20 m. Lined in clear PVC, it has chlorine purification, lighting and Roman steps for access to the water. The pool area, in terracotta paving and lawn, is completed by a shower, sunbeds, small tables and umbrellas.
