We stayed for a week in this beautiful, spacious villa, in a lovely elevated, peaceful location. We found the villa to be very clean. The weather was wonderful and we really appreciated the air conditioning in some of the bedrooms. The villa garden was well kept with a lovely large pool and poolside sun beds. We enjoyed the outside pizza oven and bbq. The views from the upstairs terrace were beautiful. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely villa.
Our third visit to this area in ten years and a joy to return. Friends had stayed in Ulignano 1 six years ago so we knew the area and more or less what to expect. The house is simply furnished and the beds very comfortable. The family were very welcoming and gave us olive oil, wine and produce from their vegetable patch. The washing machine in the underground garage broke down and it was replaced within 2 days. The pool was spotless and cleaned every night. This house is perfect as a base for touring the area or lazing by the pool. Borgo Della Speranza is a very welcome addition just five mins walk up the hill where they have a restaurant and also do takeaway so saves a trip into Volterra if you want to eat out. Fabulous food and lovely people. There were 3 couples in our party so one couple had to sleep on the open mezzanine area upstairs which is fine if you all know each other well! Weather was really hot 30-38 degrees so welcome additions would be ceiling fans upstairs. Mosquitos were in abundance which we expected but screens on the shower room and toilet would have allowed us some additional welcome air in the evenings. When all going out together, the boys showered at the pool! The biggest issue we experienced was the tiny fridge with only a small top freezer box with a broken door. Trying to keep food (and drinks) cool was an impossibility. A half and half fridge freezer would have been a godsend. Saying all this, we would definitely book again in the future.
Zeer comfortabel 4 persoonshuis. Per tweetal een douche/toilet biedt veel privacy. Prachtige omgeving. Goede basisplek voor het cultuursnuiven in verschillende steden. Het Manhattan (San Gimignano) van de Toscane is a nice place to be. Al wandelend in de omgeving van verre te herkennen.
[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Very comfortable home for 4 people. One shower / toilet per couple means a lot of privacy. Beautiful surroundings. Good base for takimng in some culture in different cities. Tuscany's Manhattan (San Gimignano) is a nice place to be. You can recognize is from afar while hiking in the surroundings.
Staying at Villa Pedone was an absolutely wonderful experience--more than we ever imagined. It was enhanced by Ana Marie who was a wonderful "hostess"---she made the stay(two weeks) even more delightful. Many thanks from all 16-17 of us!
bonjour location tres correct et propre a part le rideau de douche laisse a desirer peu mieux faire probleme rencontre pas d eclairage exterieur pour acceder a la maison et c est 1 chemin accidente et stationnement de vehicule faut se garer presque a 1klm de la maison tres decevant et traverse le village ca monte et descends apres 1 journee de shopping crevant probleme rencontre coupure de courant du jeter glace et viande aussi probleme de cafetiere pour 3 personne au ptit dej pas plus haute 1 briquet pour allumer 1 cigarette
